Our Mission and Purpose:
The Conference Board of Laity enables laity to have full and equal partnerships with clergy and within the Conference, to work with the Circuits to grow lay leadership, and to provide lay opportunities for growth through Lay Leadership Development, Faith Alive, Annual Conference Laity session, Lay Servant Ministries programming and The Book of Discipline, paragraph 631.
The Board develops principled spiritual leaders for the Church and for the world through the work of the Lay Leadership Development team (Catalyst), Faith Alive!, Lay Servant Ministries, Laity Session at Annual Conference, United Methodist Women, United Methodist Men and the work of the District Lay Leaders.
The Board meets regularly to build relationships with the members and develop new opportunities for leadership development, spiritual growth and collaboration with other boards and agencies in the Wisconsin Conference.
The Board members have a growing commitment to the ministry of the laity. Making disciples is a top priority in all events and processes planned by The Board. The Conference Board of Laity has several strong programs that foster spiritual growth, train leaders and provide new opportunities for church members to be strengthened in their ministries. These are many pathways to the same goal, which all work toward a focus on revitalization, individually and within a congregation, Circuit and the Conference. |
