Fond du Lac Covenant UMC

Central Issue: Creating an atmosphere of hospitality and care for people of all ages.

Top Five Priorities

  1. Sustain growth in church attendance and membership by December 31, 2003
  2. To clarify facility needs
  3. Making a second service a priority
  4. Creating an atmosphere of Christ-like service
  5. Develop more youth mentoring

Funding Support (BCCD): $3,700

Current Result

A new structure for staff and leadership has been implemented.
New teams are being created for hospitality and outreach.
Money is being raised to update the sound system and install a video system to better service both services and all projection for the later contemporary worship.
General gifts to the church are ahead of last year by 3%.
Information has been gathered on facility needs.

The Church of the Good Hope (Milwaukee)

Central Issue: Being highly responsive to a diverse and growing neighborhood. To connect directly with over 3000 neighborhood people.

Top Five Priorities

  1. Increase music ministry (gospel choir, choir director, children's music)
  2. Increase youth and children's ministry
  3. Hospitality as a priority
  4. Evangelism within and outside the congregation
  5. Link and partner with groups meeting in the facility

Funding Support (BCCD): $99,000 in 2003 & $65,000 in 2004

Current Result: The church is coming alive like never before, worship is being seen as a wonderful way to bring outreach to the community, there is greatly diminished negativism and an increase in a positive atmosphere, gospel choir is now active with a choir director, an outreach van has been purchased, the parking lot has been repaved, we are beginning to rethink the building's appearance and a sound system has been installed, and several have now been trained in Stephens Ministry.

Mosinee UMC

Central Issue: The church was slowly dying and had lost all sense of ministry to the community of which it was a part.

Top Five Priorities

  1. Determine the unmet ministry needs of the community and address them
  2. Become a stand-alone church
  3. Become a church for the unchurched
  4. Build a facility that is accessible and inviting to worshipers
  5. Provide a place for community outreach ministries

Funding Support (BCCD): $60,000

Current Result:

The church is a stand-alone church,
With new facilities,
Grew 14% in 2002 and is projected to grow 30% in 2003 in professing membership.
Attendance is up 73%

Ministry in the City is a cooperative effort of the United Methodist churches to hear God's call to be in ministry with the communities of Metropolitan Milwaukee.

Each participating local church has an opportunity to discover increased strength and health while being involved in new mission and ministry possibilites in partnership with other church and community organizations.
