The Columbus-Fall River Food Pantry

is desperately in need of help! Below is a list of items that are always in need:

Money is always welcome. Money buys fresh foods from the grocery store including milk, eggs, margarine, bread, some fresh produce, and fresh meat. There are collection boxes in most of the local churches.

Columbus Club House

The Missions Committee of Columbus United Methodist Church supports several local organizations, as well as regional, national, and global ministries. In the coming months, we hope to update you on these local groups and the important work they do in our community. This month, we focus on The Columbus Club House.

Club House is a non-profit organization offering before and after school care and a full-day summer program for school-age children in Columbus. The program was founded in 1988 and has grown to an average attendance of 50 students. Daily lesson plans for the students are designed to meet their social and emotional needs. Theme based lessons allow children to learn and discover in a variety of areas including cultural activities, art, music and physical education. Additionally, the program is coordinated with the TRIBES program used at Columbus Elementary School. Students find consistent expectations before and after school. This program provides a safe, nurturing environment where students can learn and grow while having fun.

Because Club House is non-profit, it depends on support from area businesses, industries, service clubs, faith based organizations, and individual community members. The Missions Committee recognizes the value of this vital program, and hopes that you will continue your support of Club House as well.
