What is the Youth Service Fund?
The Youth Service Fund is a United Methodist mission fund raised by youth, administrated by youth, and given to youth in ministry. Churches and youth groups may submit applications for funds to help with mission trips or mission programs/projects.
Where does the money go?
Of the YSF funds raised, 70% of the money remains in the Wisconsin Annual Conference to be distributed by the Conference Council on Youth Ministries. The remaining 30% is sent to the United Methodist Division on Young People's Ministries, which distributes funds nationally and internationally for youth in ministry and mission. Some example recipients in Wisconsin this year have done mission projects in Mississippi, New Orleans, Canada, Japan, and South Africa.
How are funds raised?
Funds are raised by youth at all Conference-sponsored youth events, Annual Conference. and through donations given by individuals interested in supporting youth in ministry. For more information about the Youth Service Fund, contact the Conference Youth Office at 1-888-240-7328 or via e-mail at ccym@wisconsinumc.org.
