Conference Council on Youth Ministries
Conference Youth Leadership Information
Thank you for your interest in being a part of the Conference Council on Youth Ministries or other areas of conference youth leadership. Please read the following information and fill out the application form and return to the Conference office by August 1 st , 2008. Wisconsin Annual Conference, C/O CCYM. P.O. Box 620. Sun Prairie, WI 53590. When you complete the registration form, the CCYM exec team will review it and if you are approved, you will be invited to the next CCYM meeting.
Here is some information on what it means to be a CCYM member:
Qualities of a CCYM member
-communication skills
-trustworthy
-respectful

-being able to follow
-faith based
Commitment of a CCYM member
-attend 3/4 of CCYM meetings
-be willing to follow thru on projects and assignments
-to be in covenant to the other members of the committee, to God, and to your local church
Expectations of a CCYM member
-active in a United Methodist Congregation
-willingness to empower youth in the local church

If being a part of CCYM is a bit too much responsibility for you right now, there are some other opportunities for leadership other than Conference Council on Youth Ministries. Many other conference boards and agencies are looking for youth to serve on their committees to be the voice for youth and to be a liaison between them and CCYM. If you are looking for a position of leadership that is more short term and with less commitment, consider serving on one of the Conference Boards and Agencies:
Board of Camp & Retreat Ministries
Board of Church and Society
Board of Global Ministries
Board of Higher Education
Commission on Christian Unity and Interreligious Concerns
Commission on the Status and Role of Women
Council on Ethnic Local Church Concerns
Nominations
If you are interested in being a part of any of these committees, just write the name of the committee/committees that you are interested in on the part of the application form that asks what leadership areas you would be interested in.
