Upcoming Events
Celebrating Our Lutheran Connection
In celebration of the recent full communion relationship between the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America and the United Methodist Church, we will be marking this historic occasion during the "Week of Prayer for Christian Unity" in January.
Rev. Fran Deaner from Bashford United Methodist Church, will be preaching at Trinity Lutheran Church on Winnebago Street on Sunday, January 24 and co-officiating for communion with their pastor, Rev. John Ruppenthal, to mark the start of the "Week of Prayer for Christian Unity." Rev. Amy Yackovich will be preaching at Bashford UMC that morning.
Then on February 7, to mark the end of the "Week of Prayer for Christian Unity", Rev. John Ruppenthal, from Trinity Lutheran Church, will be preaching for the worship services at Bashford and co-officiating for communion with Rev. Fran Deaner.
We know you'll want to be present for this historic and meaningful way of marking our hope that the words of the prayer of Jesus may be fulfilled. Jesus was praying for his Disciples and then said,
"I am not praying just for these followers. I am also praying for everyone else who will have faith because of what my followers will say about me. I want all of them to be one with each other, just as I am one with you and you are one with me. I also want them to be one with us. Then the people of this world will believe that you sent me."(Contemporary English Version)
