WELCOME AND GREETING
* CALL TO WORSHIP
A frosty morning, O God; we bundle up as there’s a chill in the air.
The cold conspires against us yet your beauty is as crisp as ever.
The beauty of human love and this community of grace warm the heart.
For your wondrous love and your blessed presence, we give praise.
* HYMN 92 (vs. 1, 4, 5 & 6) “For the Beauty of the Earth”
PRAYER IN CELEBRATION OF GOD
O Great Creator God, the warm beauty of your creation and its chilling wonder inspires awe in your people: praise, praise, praise.
As through a frosty window, we see only dimly but we anticipate the day when your beauty will shine like the noonday sun: glory, glory, glory.
The splendor of your love and the light of your life are shown us in Jesus Christ, Beautiful Savior, Glorious Lord: praise, praise, praise.
Human love is so fragile, we handle is so recklessly; we wound, hurt and abuse: forgive us, O Christ, and restore in us the joy of your salvation.
How can we thrive in all that you have given but become stewards of your great grace: may it be so, O God. Amen.
