Trinity United Methodist Library

Sandy Anderson and Ruth Anne Gilbertson have been working with
Trinity library for almost four years.  The previous librarian,
Vivian Wilhelm, had been in the position for 20+ years and needed relief.
She did a nice job and did gain the attention of the building committee
so that a space was designated for a library.

Sandy and Ruth Anne have worked in public school libraries for many years so they felt the need to weed,
catalog and promote.  It took them about six months to get a handle on the collections and get everything processed.
Of course, that job never ends!!!

Luckily, Ruth Anne had just retired so she did have time to spend on the project.  Sandy did all the processing and
together they weeded extensively--keeping only things that didn't smell like a basement, had a copyright of 1995 or earlier,
was historically appropriate and had been checked out in the past 10 years.

The library in Trinity UMC had been in many places until the 2003 remodeling.  The adult library is located just outside
of the sanctuary and adjacent to the Gathering Space.  There are several positive reasons for locating the library in this library.
The best reason is the traffic flow in and out of the sanctuary.   We are looking to replace the library stacks allowing for
more shelving in the future.
The Youth and Children's Rainbow Room libraries are located near their Sunday school rooms.  This works well for
the children and their teachers.

Adults, Youth and children, come check us out.  Enjoy our books, CDs, videos and DVDs and magazines.
