A Brief History of Trinity

Methodism in CF began in 1846 with our first building built in 1870.  That church was built on the present site and removed when this building was constructed--for $15,000.00.  Our church was completed 1892 with the church having a membership of 100 people.  But many people didn't have cars so the preacher had to horse and buggy it out to the country every  other Sunday for 2:00 services--which were cancelled when they conflicted with baseball tournaments!!!  Sound like a Packer replay!!!!!

By 1910 the congregation had grown to 400.  In about 1920 the basement was improved to include Sunday school rooms and a gym.  Later, the gym became a dining room, now located in the lower level of the church.  In the early 1960's, the sanctuary was remodeled and an educational center was added.   Our church remained just that way until 2003 when the first of a three phase remodeling was completed.

A new area, designated the Gathering Space, used to be offices and a lounge area on the second floor.  When the tiling and carpet was removed a wonderful wood floor was discovered and refurbished.  The Trinity adult library was placed in that area as well.  Methodists truly value kitchens and dining rooms.  Our remodeling included a fabulous space, which is used by a multitude of groups, such as Agnes's Table, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, AA, or PEO.  Phase two and three will encompass remodeling the basement area and the Sunday school rooms.
