UMW - United Methodist Women

UMW<>Our Purpose

The organized unit of United Methodist Women shall be a community of women whose purpose is to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative supportive fellowship; and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church.

Membership

A member of United Methodist Women is anyone who commits herself to the purpose and chooses to belong. United Methodist Women celebrates an inclusive membership and welcomes all women who want to become members.

Being a member of The United Methodist Church is not required nor is there any minimum age requirement. Out of a commitment for mission locally and globally with women, children and youth, United Methodist Women choose to participate in meetings, prayer, financial giving, study, action and service.

United Methodist Women is a community of women who nurture and encourage one another in their spiritual growth, personal leadership and transformation. As a member, you accept the challenge to expand concepts of mission.

Every female member of the Antigo United Methodist Church is a member of our United Methodist Church Women.

Our Activities

This group has often been at the forefront of movements for change, at times supporting the projects initiated by others, but always aware of the times and striving to move with these ever-changing times.

We sponsor a Salad Luncheon in June and a Christmas Bazaar in November with proceeds going to the financial needs of our church, assisting students attending church camp, and contributing to the Christian climate of our church.

In addition, we serve the needs of families and loved ones when a funeral dinner or “coming together as a family” is requested.
